Executive Pastor (February 2008-November 2010)

  • Primary responsibility included focusing on issues relating to vision and mission, leadership development, general strategy and oversight. This included facilitating, developing and implementing the vision and Long range planning
  • Met regularly with Sr. Pastor and Elder chairman for reporting, problem solving and establishing direction
  • Provided support, guidance, mentoring, leadership and direction to the church ministries and leaders
  • Speak at or lead meetings in various capacities as needed
  • Provided counsel, oversight and direction as required for church operations, administration, finances as well as site master planning, construction and maintenance of church facilities

  • Attending Member since 1987; Served as Deacon beginning 1992
  • Serving formally as an Elder Board Member – 1994-2009
  • Shortly after the loss of first wife to 17 years of debilitating Multiple Sclerosis, became interim board spokesperson through challenging period of crisis prior to a “new beginning” which was launched in June of 1998. Instrumental role in integrating our church into a Conservative Baptist affiliation.
  • Worked very closely with Dr/Pastor Gary Becker as Interim Pastor through this process
  • In March of 1999, Pastor Andrew Brown was affirmed as Senior Pastor. Subsequent to that had a very close leadership relationship with Pastor Brown in the further development and oversight of ministries
  • Prior to serving as Interim Lead Pastor, served as one of three Elders within our Elder led church. Worked closely with fellow Elders: Senior Pastor and Pastor of Outreach; Significant influence and involvement with leadership, conflict resolution and administrative issues.
  • Presided over and participated in various services including: Baptism, Anointing of Sick, Funeral, Communion and Baby Dedication
  • Sunday morning announcements/coming events/offerings
  • Led Purpose Driven Life “40 Days of Purpose” initiative
  • Preaching at various Sunday and Holiday Services

Small Group Oversight

  • Personally led home fellowship groups for approximately 15 years
  • Shepherding and overseeing all home fellowship groups

Missions Chairman

  • General oversight missions program
  • Led Wheels for the World Project, Ghana, Africa
